Description:

A novel small molecule that overcomes HdmX-mediated p53 repression, binds directly to HdmX (Kd=450 nM) to prevent p53-HdmX complex formation; results in the rapid induction of p53 in a DNA damage-independent manner, induces apoptosis or suppresses proliferation in a panel of cancer cells (LD50=1-10 uM); exhibits high in vivo activity in a mouse model of circulating primary human leukemia.
