Description:

Galvestine-1 is a small molecule MGDG (monogalactosyldiacylglycerol) synthase inhibitor with IC50 of 10 uM by competing with diacylglycerol binding; shows effect of root uptake, circulation in the xylem and mesophyll, inhibition of MGDs in vivo causing a reduction of MGDG content and impairment of chloroplast development in Arabidopsis thaliana; a unique tool to study lipid homeostasis in plants.
