Description:

Bragsin1 (Bragsin 1) is a specific inhibitor of the ArfGEF BRAG2, affects the trans-Golgi network in a BRAG2- and Arf-dependent manner in cells (IC50=3 uM); binds at the interface between the PH domain of BRAG2 and the lipid bilayer to render BRAG2 unable to activate lipidated Arf, requires membranes for specific inhibition of BRAG2; affects tumorsphere formation in breast cancer cell lines; Bragsin1 and Bragsin 2 are novel compounds that function by altering protein-membrane interactions without disruption.
